Results as reported by Nat: In preparation for my meeting with Lucy, I filled out a negotiating your pay document which was a practical tool that helped me consider; my feeling and anxieties around asking, a timeline of my achievements in the role and evidence, structuring the conversation and understanding the outcome and my response to it. I was able to get into the right headspace and structure and came prepared to my meeting with Lucy.
My meeting with Lucy went really well and she really helped me identify my goals and formulate an action plan and structure for the conversation. My conversation with Lucy felt very natural and constructive throughout - she helped me challenge myself and consider my value and strengths. I felt nervous about having the meeting with the organisation, but after my conversation with Lucy I felt confident, energised and motivated.
Lucy’s warm professionalism made me feel highly supported and her genuine encouragement and challenge helped me highlight the strengths and values I bring to the organisation and the confidence to ask in a structured way. Without the structure and overall encouragement from Lucy, I wouldn't have had the confidence to ask. The meeting with the organisation was successful and I managed to get a pay rise in the end.
